About The Trainer
Reem Razem has been teaching Arabic for non-speakers for the last 10 years. Her journey of teaching Arabic started at Wollongong University. Reem taught ASL and designed syllabi for the Arabic Program at the University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD). As the Arabic Program Coordinator, Reem designed a Summer Study Abroad Program (2006-2008) which attracted international students from all over the world and proved to be of great success. She also designed and taught a course for a Study Abroad Program at Middlesex University (2011). Throughout her career, she trained companies in Dubai that include: SHELL, Terrapin, IQPC and MasterCard. Most recently, she taught Communication Skills in Arabic for Non-speakers to UG students at the Canadian University in Dubai (CUD).
Reem holds two professional certificates; a TAFL certificate from NCLRC/Georgetown University, and a CELTA certificate from UOWD.
She also obtained her MA with distinction in American Studies/ Cultural Studies and her BA with distinction in Political Science from the University of Jordan.
Reem believes in learning by doing. Learning Arabic as a foreign language can be fruitful and fun when it is relevant to students’ daily life encounters. Her teaching methodology incorporates communicative approach, Gestalt and blended learning.
Reem believes there is always room for improvement in all aspects of teaching and learning Arabic as a foreign language. She strives to excel in her field and applies the saying: "The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn."
